THE LOST BOYS18-05-2009 The best in the business are back and they are back in style!!! After an absence of 13 years, which has seemed like a lifetime, The Lost Boys are back!!! The guys who last performed at the Black Horse Festival back in 1996 re-formed on Friday 15th May to over 100 people at the Carlisle in Hastings. The original line-up of Pete Prescott (vocals), Alan McCleave (guitar), Graham Gillett (bass), Jez Gillett (keyboards) and Mick Burt (drums) were all back, and back in style. The set list included such classics as "Word Up", "Cold as Ice", Owner of a Lonely Heart", "Pour Some Sugar", "Why can´t this be Love", "Love in an Elevator", "Jump", "Rebel Yell" and many, many more besides all of which were played note perfect. Having The Lost Boys back and back in the Carlisle was like taking a trip back in time, many of the crowd were also returning to their old stomping ground since moving on over the years just to see the guys back together. Everyone was commenting on how good it was to see these guys play together again, how it sounded like there had never been a break and how they should continue to strut their funky stuff together for years to come. However, our Gig Pig has heard that the guys have re-formed only as a hobby and are only looking to play 4-5 gigs a year as they all still have other commitments, especially Alan and Graham who are still integral parts of the very successful ´Dead Calm´ and have no desire to leave the group to make The Lost Boys a full-time affair. What the Xango! Gig Pig will say is... That if you are a live music lover and want to see a band that was once the best local group in the land and can still perform to that level, then he suggests that you keep your eyes open for The Lost Boys and their forthcoming gigs... ...They are next expected to play on 25th July at the Robin Hood, Icklesham Beer Festival - DO NOT MISS IT!!! |
